It's nearly time for our Frome VWF!

Oh yes! This Sunday (22nd) we are heading on over to Frome where we will be dazzling our blushing brides with amazing vintage wedding dresses, accessories, bouquets, cakes and well, just about everything you could possibly dream of!!

Frome brides prepare yourselves for lashings of lace and the best Vintage Wedding Specialists around! We know how to care for our brides - planning a wedding can be pretty stressful don't ya know! Ahhh but we are here to help!

Whether you are getting married at the last minute or have been scrap-booking and planning your wedding since the age of 4 - we have got it covered! We want your wedding to perfectly reflect you as a couple and feel completely honoured to be a part of turning your Big Day into the dream day!

Yayyy we are back!!!

Bring it on Chester!!

Oh yes, this weekend we are once again going to be at Chester Guildhall with our wonderful vintage wedding fair! As always we have a brilliant selection of specialist exhibitors ready to turn your wedding dream into a reality!

We are offering brides the chance to delve into a world packed full of authentic dresses and accessories dating from 1920-1970 and our exhibitors will also be showcasing their finest array of flowers, favours, stationary, cakes and photography. Vintage inspired pieces will also be on offer and can be personalised occording to your needs.

In fact, it has been known for brides to plan their entire wedding at one of these events and with a multitude of inspiration all in one place, we can’t say fairer than that! Our secret weapons...

The 19th February is looming - you all know what that means! Its wedding fair time - roll on Harrogate VWF! (See previous post). SO, we would like to introduce to you our wonderful set of exhibitors just to give you all a little teaser! They really do make our event extra special so here. we. go.

First up you must, must, must go and visit Elizabeth Peat Wedding Hair Design & Vintage Events. This little stop will really help you get into the vintage vibe - as well as provide that all important hair inspiration for your big day.

Next, be sure to stop off and admire Fleur Adamo's floral designs. They are so beautiful! In fact, we have a really great selection of exhibitors selling bouquets, favours, decorations and flowers - you will be spoilt for choice I can assure you! Also on your hit list should be Debbie Carlisle (see image below), Leafy Couture, Vintage Twee and Get Knotted!

RIGHT, here come the dresses (my favourite bit)! Firstly we have Vintage Emporium selling their stunning range of original vintage wedding dresses, dating from the 1930s-1960s - be sure to stop by as they will also be selling a beautiful range of accessories (see picture below)! Then we have Lindsay Fleming Couture, Andrea Beun Couture and Kate Collins. I will emphasis the pure beauty of these dresses - you will not be disappointed !!

WE. ARE. BACK!

At long last! The time has finally come for us to start up our Vintage Wedding Fairs again. We've had a lovely little rest and yet we cannot help but be excited for the fun to start all over again - kicking off with one of our favourites: Harrogate (St George Hotel).

SO, when you ask, will this be? The answer, my dear friends, is February 19th! Doors open at 11.30am (and will stay open until 4.30pm) with an entry fee of just £5.

We have 50 fantastic exhibitors who are sure to inspire you! They are perfectly equipped to help you plan/personalise your special day so do not fear - we've got it covered! It has been known for brides to plan their entire wedding at one of our events so you truly are in expert hands. We aim to please - nothing makes us happier then seeing our brides beam with happiness as they spot their perfect dress or when all of those tricky final touches come together at last!

Well our predictions were correct - London and the VWF really were very happy together - very happy indeed. What a day it was! We are proud to stay the venue was heaving and would like to thank all our exhibitors and all the blushing brides who attended for making our last VWF of the year such a success.

The VWF goes to London...

Now that Chester has been and gone, it is onwards and upwards to London! We are very excited about this one - it is a well known fact that Londoners like their style. Well, what could be more stylish than vintage? I have a feeling that The Vintage Wedding Fair and London are going to be very happy together - or here's hoping!

Over recent years, vintage weddings have become hugely popular with brides. Why? Because you are guaranteed uniqueness. Vintage inspired weddings capture a certain type of romance - you know the epic, film-worthy kind! I mean after all, weddings are all about tradition and what is tradition without history or nostalgia?

Besides, there is something so magical about recreating elements of the past - perhaps it is the feeling of keeping something alive? Personally, I am of the belief that vintage weddings (or vintage inspired weddings) can help to capture the essence of everlasting love - something that should be eternal and always remembered.

Anyway...I digress!

What I do want to share with you all is some more information on what will be on offer...

Firstly, the event is to be held at Chiswick Town Hall, Heathfield Terrace (W4 4JN) on the 13th November. Doors are open from 11am-4pm (Entry £5) so we hope to see lots of smiling brides there. We have a great line-up of exhibitors attending so you will be in expert hands!

If you are looking for THE DRESS then look no further, you have a. lot. of. option. Heavenly Vintage Brides will be there offering you dresses that will make your heart beat so fast you may need to sit down! Joining them is Donna Crain Couture, Vintage Emporium, Andrea Beun Couture and Days of Grace Vintage - each with their own special selection of top quality vintage gowns dating from the Victorian and Edwardian eras up to the 1970s (fancy a bit of hippy chic anyone?). Plus loads more (see London page for the full list)!

In terms of accessories - we have it beyond covered!! Ever & Ava will be selling an eclectic mix of tiaras, jewellery, facinators, vintage glass and china. Connie & Dolly will also be selling vintage jewellery and headpieces to add that extra sparkle to your wedding look, along with Tallulah's Trinkets.

What happens in Chester...

Oh the fun we had! Chester proved to be the ultimate place for vintage-loving brides who ALL really got into the swing of things - always a pleasure to see!

We are just so thrilled that everybody seemed to enjoy themselves and that a fair few brides were spotted buying the dress of their dreams - oh yes, the tears did roll (out of joy I might add)!

The atmosphere was truly brilliant and all the exhibitors did the most amazing job of keeping our guests entertained and their wishes made into realities. Plus all the cake on offer helped to add an extra dollop of sweetness to the day!

Mouth-watering or what??

As previously mentioned, BBC Homes & Antiques Magazine kindly attended the event, needless to say it created an extra special buzz about the place - make sure you look out for us in their February issue! Also, representatives from the delightful Alt Fashion Magazine came along to do a feature on us too! Exciting stuff.

I can safely say that we hardly wanted the day to end! It was such a pleasure meeting so many fantastic (and stunning) people. Now we are really excited for London!! Meet us at Chiswick Town Hall on Sunday the 13th of November - more information coming soon!

Vintage Wedding Fair News

Well, well, well it would seem that we have come to the half-way mark of our VWF tour! Harrogate and Bath have come and gone BUT we still have Chester (16th October) and London (13th November) on the cards...

First up, Chester!

We have a fantastic range of exhibitors present at the event, which is located at Chester Guildhall from 11am-4pm (entry £4).

Also, BBC Homes & Antiques magazine are going to be there doing a feature on the event - I think it is safe to say that we are very excited about this so keep a look out for it in their February issue!

As for our amazing exhibitors? Here's a selection to show you what to expect...

Debbie Carlisle will be there selling her amazing bouquet creations (see below). These stunning and extremely unique bouquets are made from vintage and vintage-style jewellery, buttons and all things shiny. Debbie works closely with each bride, lovingly personalising them to create the ultimate finishing touch.

Perfect Days Vintage will also be there hiring out stunning vintage china and accessories along with For The Love of Vintage - both fantastic exhibitors with amazing collections so what ever you fall in love with (and you are bound to fall in love with something) at least you can be sure that they are all one off pieces, cared for with love.

Happy Heritage is another brilliant one (below). Offering all you creative brides the chance to hire out vintage props for a seamless (and oh-so stunning) vintage wedding. The company also organises various quintessential events that promise to inspire and enrapture you.

The Vintage Beauty Parlour will also be there, demonstrating various vintage hair and make up looks - courtesy of Bethany Jane Davies (below). We promise that you will leave looking utterly out of this world (or should I say out of this era?)

Next, you can venture across to see Imogen and her beautiful selection of vintage and burlesque inspired hats and fascinators at Imogen's Imagination (below).

AND finally we get to the dresses!!

Yes, there will be lots of stunning wedding dresses and accompanying attire available to buy. Sellers include Vintage Emporium (below), Luxe Bridal (see 1930s wedding dress below), Vintage Strawberry and Goodbye Norma Jean.

BBC3 Pilot Looking for Engaged Couples to Test Drive Their Marriage

Have you ever wondered how people view you as a couple? Would you like the chance to delve into somebody else’s engagement and see what they’re planning for their big day, and their future lives together?

So much focus goes into the wedding day that sometimes the big questions get buried beneath the flower arrangements and seating plans. We are looking for young couples who are interested in taking a voyage of discovery with their partner before the big day - an experience designed to give their marriage a better chance of lasting the course.

You need to have your wedding plans underway and be willing to explore your relationship with your partner. You will need to be open with one another about what you want from your life together – your strengths and weaknesses as a couple. You will also be interested in finding out more about what makes people’s relationships tick.
